Again, we make with the posting. It's been too long...the kids have now graduated from college and have moved on in their lives in their flying cars.
At least it seems that way. We'll start with a bitty-bit about our vacation last month...
In a fit of madness, we decided that a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 year old would make perfect travelling companions for an hours-long drive to South Dakota by way of Kansas and Nebraska, then back through Wyoming and Colorado. We were aiming for the Giant Dead President Heads. You may be familiar with them.
On our way, we battled a giant in Kansas...
Then discovered the middle of the known world...
Forged ahead in our trusty prairie schooner...
Tamed fantastic creatures...
Challenged the Lords of the Plains...
Discovered the ruins of an obviously nostril-worshiping people...
Braved alien landing sites...
Thirsted mightily for water...
Panned for gold...
And took photos with every gaudy statue in five states.
We also packed along a tent that we never used. The kids slept in motel rooms...believe me, this was a victory. We shall do this again soon...*steeples fingers* soon indeed.
